Storm & Hail Damage Roof Repair
(801) 232-5823
Storm Damage Is Easy to Miss and Expensive to Ignore
After a hailstorm or a big wind event, most roof damage can’t be seen from the driveway. Bruised shingles, cracked mats, lifted tabs, and dented vents look fine from the ground but start leaking months later. Our storm damage roof repair starts with a close, hands-on inspection and photos of everything we find.
Common Storm Damage on Utah Roofs
- Hail: granule loss, bruised or cracked shingles, dented flashing, vents, and gutters
- Wind: creased, lifted, or missing shingles and torn ridge caps
- Snow and ice: ice dams at the eaves, water backing up under shingles, damaged gutters
- Fallen limbs: punctures, broken decking, and crushed gutters
We Help With the Insurance Claim
Filing a roof claim can feel like a second job. We make it easier. Our team photographs damage before, during, and after the work, gives you an itemized estimate, and works directly with your insurance provider and adjuster. Many of our customers simply forward our photo link to their insurance company.
We can’t promise what your policy covers, and we’ll never tell you a roof is damaged when it isn’t. If the damage is real and covered, we help you get the claim handled correctly. If it isn’t, you’ll get an honest answer and a fair price on any roof repair you still need.
Emergency Tarping After a Storm
If a storm has opened up your roof, call (801) 232-5823 any time, day or night. We’ll tarp or temporarily seal the area to protect your home, then schedule the permanent repair or roof replacement. Most policies expect you to prevent further damage after a storm, so act quickly.
More Than Just Shingles
Hail and wind also beat up gutters, downspouts, and siding and fascia. We inspect and repair the whole exterior so your claim covers everything the storm damaged. Go Pro Roofing is based in West Valley City and works throughout Salt Lake County and Utah County.

Common Questions
Storm Damage & Insurance FAQs
How do I know if my roof has hail damage?
Look for dented gutters, downspouts, vents, or a dinged car after the storm. On the roof, hail leaves dark bruises where granules are knocked off, cracks, and soft spots. Most hail damage can’t be seen from the ground, so a hands-on inspection is the only way to know for sure.
Does homeowners insurance cover hail damage to my roof?
Most homeowners policies cover sudden damage from hail and wind, minus your deductible. Wear, age, and poor maintenance usually aren’t covered. Every policy is different, so review yours or ask your agent. We can’t guarantee coverage.
How long do I have to file a roof damage claim?
It depends on your policy. Many insurers set a deadline, often around a year from the date of the storm. File as soon as you can after you find damage, while it’s easy to tie to a specific storm.
Should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?
Many homeowners call a roofer first for a free inspection. That way you know whether there’s real damage before you file a claim. If there is, we’ll give you photos and an estimate to send with it.
Will you meet with my insurance adjuster?
Yes. We can be on site when the adjuster inspects your roof to point out damage and make sure nothing is missed. We’ll also send our documentation directly to your insurance company if you’d like.
What if my claim is denied?
Ask your insurer for the denial reason in writing. Sometimes more documentation helps. If the damage isn’t covered, we’ll give you an honest repair or replacement estimate and you decide what to do.
Can wind damage a roof without missing shingles?
Yes. Strong wind can lift and crease shingles, breaking the seal strip even if they lie back down. Those shingles can blow off or leak in the next storm. Creased shingles are easy to spot during a close inspection.
Do you offer emergency tarping after a storm?
Yes. We offer 24/7 emergency service across Salt Lake County and Utah County. We’ll tarp or temporarily seal open areas to prevent more water damage until permanent repairs can be made.
Does storm damage affect gutters and siding too?
Often, yes. Hail dents gutters, downspouts, and siding, and wind can pull fascia and trim loose. We check and repair all of it so your claim covers the whole exterior, not just the shingles.
Will filing a claim raise my insurance rates?
That depends on your insurer and your claim history. Weather claims are generally treated differently than other claims, but ask your agent to be sure.
